Restylane and/or Perlane® Injections

What Is Restylane and/or Perlane®?
Restylane and/or Perlane® is a clear biodegradable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body. Hyaluronic acid fills in the spaces between collagen and elastin fibers to cushion soft tissue. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the body decreases due to the natural aging process, contributing to the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Restylane and/or Perlane® injections are used to help replace the hyaluronic acid, resulting in a more youthful facial appearance.
Restylane and/or Perlane® Treatment Process
In performing the treatment, our doctors use a thin needle to inject Restylane and/or Perlane® into skin tissue. The hyaluronic acid in the gel draws in water, causing the tissue near the fine lines and wrinkles to swell and attain a smoother appearance. Because the needle is very fine, patients experience little to no pain during the treatment. The entire Restylane and/or Perlane® procedure takes less than an hour, and patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. Because of this, Restylane and/or Perlane® treatment is known as a "lunchtime" procedure. Restylane and/or Perlane® injections can be combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment for optimal aesthetic results.

JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel
At Forma Plastic Surgery, in addition to Restylane and/or Perlane® injections, we offer treatment with JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel as a safe and effective alternative to animal-based dermal fillers. Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid that helps to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of unsightly facial lines and wrinkles for an extended period of time. JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel Process

ArteFill® Injections
Our practice is proud to offer ArteFill® injections, the first and only FDA-approved permanent wrinkle filler on the market. Also known as Artecoll®, the dermal filler has been used throughout Europe and Canada to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Unlike Restylane and/or Perlane® and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, ArteFill® is made of polymethylmethacrylate beads suspended in bovine collagen. The beads stimulate the production of collagen in the body, and as the solution degrades, it is replaced by the body's natural collagen. Because of this, ArteFill® provides permanent results.
ArteFill® Injections Process
Our doctor injects ArteFill® through a very thin needle directly into the area needing treatment. The entire ArteFill® treatment process takes less than an hour. Results are immediately apparent, and patients can return to their daily activities after their appointment.
